Throughout The Years…
At the young age of five, I debuted my first (and only) original book on Reading Rainbow; Ice Cream for Dogs. Overseen by my mother’s creative eye, the story follows different breeds of dogs through the park on a hot summers day, eating ice cream that best suited their personality. Pink sweetheart sprinkles for the pink poodle, vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone for the golden retriever, and lastly a milkshake for the mutt. Illustrated with what a Kindergartner knows best, colored pencils, Elmer’s glue, and tissue paper.
Following my story telling peak, came ‘Wacky Banana’. A weekly series I filmed with my best friend and brother in elementary school. Complimented with an original theme song, special ninja skits, and a news section, we still have sworn it would have been a hit … if only we knew how to upload videos to YouTube.
These skits continued through middle school in different forms - music videos, short films, vlogs - all curated in iMovie. Then in high school, I dipped my toes into Adobe for the first time. I began a YouTube channel, vlogging my friends and I’s daily lives. I quickly picked up Adobe Premiere Pro and spent countless hours editing - trying to make sense of the footage and present a story. These vlogs served as inspiration for my friend group to get creative and think of new ways to entertain our ‘audience’. During the time, it served as a quick laugh, but now these videos are a cherished time capsule of our friendship.
During this time I became familiar with many social outlets. I began posting baking videos on Pinterest (where now I bring in over 6,000 monthly views), short form videos on TikTok (having two reach over 200,000 views) and Etsy (selling graphic design templates and merchandise).
None of these endeavors seemed like a clear path for a career. Coming from a father who studied Biology and Chemistry at university - I was taught to think practically, told to prioritize reading, achieve academic success, and most importantly always study in the library. Meanwhile the other half of me, my mother, studied Art and English, and took any opportunity to create art, participate in parades, barefoot and fancy free, and always vocalized her opinion. My two biggest role models in this life - who share different mantras to life. I am thankful for the perspective they both have given me that has shaped me into the person I am - both a creative and an analytic thinker.
Senior year of high school, I took introductory multi-media design classes at my local community college. Which led me to pursue a dual major in Digital Technology & Culture and Entrepreneurship at Washington State University.
It wasn’t until two years later I had found the Why (and How). My father introduced me to ice skating at a young age, and always had a passion for hockey. In 2022, he invited me to my first hockey game, the Seattle Kraken. Optimistic, but unsure what to expect aside from some catchy fan chanting, intense skating, and spending some quality time with my dad. What I didn’t realize is that this game was going to change my entire career path. Sitting down next to my dad, the pregame show began. I remember leaning on the edge of my seat and just feeling one thing, magic. Ever since that moment, I realized I want to bring that same feeling to other fans. After that game, I began networking within the franchise and taking on different roles. I became a graphic design intern on the Washington State University football team, and currently hold two internships within the Athletic Department for graphic design and sports photography & social media content creation. My aspirations are to join the NHL franchise post-graduation and seek out my passion for creating media in the sports realm.

Outside of class, I’ve worked with the WSU Women’s Lacrosse team and managed content for student organizations, where I’ve learned how to create intentional content and learn from data driven results. My goal is to keep building my career in the sports media, especially with an emphasis in hockey. Whether i’m behind a camera, designing, or brainstorming ideas, I’m all about creating visuals that hold meaning and connecting fans in a real, exciting, and innovative way.
